Case Study 04 · Event Ticketing · Personal Venture · APAC

A personal venture, grown almost entirely on organic reach.

Outside client hours I run a small event-ticketing venture serving fans across Asia-Pacific — sourcing inventory from overseas suppliers, pricing it across six currencies, and handling every customer through to delivery. 168 orders across five markets, and beyond one small awareness push, every customer arrived organically — most of them through Threads. The venture is unnamed here and no customer data appears anywhere on this page.

Threads did the heavy lifting

#1 customer source: Threads

The customer base was built with content, not budget: announcement posts written per channel and timed to inventory drops. One small awareness push aside, buyers arrived organically — the majority through Threads. Buying paid media by day and growing a venture on organic reach keeps me honest about what each is actually for.

Pricing

Six currencies, live rates

HKD · RMB · JPY · USD · MYR · IDR → PHP, per drop

Supplier inventory arrives priced in whatever the source market uses. Every list gets converted at the live rate, tiered by seating zone, and split into a cost-and-margin view for me and a clean price list for customers. Mispricing a batch eats the margin on the whole drop.

Operations

Owning the whole P&L

5 markets entered from zero

Sourcing, forecasting which tiers will sell, negotiating with suppliers in two languages, taking payment, and handling every customer through to delivery. No team, no floor, no one else to escalate to — the numbers are mine either way.

Tooling

I automated my own operation

Forms → sheets → suppliers built with Claude

Order intake, supplier order blocks, multi-currency pricing sheets and customer confirmations all run through automation I built myself using Claude — no engineering help. Detailed below.

Order counts are exact. Average order value is calculated across the 113 of 168 orders with a logged amount, so total revenue is higher than that figure implies. Business name withheld; no customer information is published here or held in any file used to build this page.
